Babes Ratings — Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 21, 2026
Babes Ratings ("the app") is a private rating app made by Kelsey Ellis. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. If you have questions, email [your contact email].
What we collect
When you use Babes Ratings, the following information is stored in Firebase (Google's cloud platform) on your behalf:
- Account info: your email address and the display name you set during sign-up. Your password is stored only by Firebase Authentication (we never see it directly).
- Profile info: an optional profile photo, a nickname for your partner, and your selected color theme.
- Your ratings: restaurant names, cities, notes, scores, and photos you attach to ratings.
- Your lists: list names, colors, icons, and notes.
- Location data:
- The coordinates of restaurants you've rated, set automatically when you pick a place from autocomplete suggestions.
- Your current device location, used only to center the "Nearby" map view on you. Your location is never stored or shared.
- Connections: a record of your partner (one) and friends (many) on the app, including pending invitations and invite codes you generate.
- Reactions and comments: anything you tap (♥ Love / 🤤 Want to try / 👎 Boo) or type as a comment on someone's rating.
How we use it
All collected data is used solely to operate the app: showing you your own data, showing your partner and friends their permitted view of your data, and letting them react and comment.
We do not show ads, sell data, run analytics on individuals, or share information with marketers or third parties beyond what's necessary to run the app.
Who can see your data
Your data is visible only to:
- You.
- Your partner, if you've explicitly paired with someone via email or invite code.
- Friends you've explicitly added, who can see your lists and ratings read-only.
